My name is Nageswara Krishna Rao, and am known more commonly as KNR.
After working for 34 years in companies like Indian Telephone Industries, Tata Unisys, Sun Microsystems, Oracle, Unisys etc., I decided to pursue my passion to help people achieve success. I quit my job as Vice President of Engineering in Unisys, in March 2021 and started my coaching practice, “What’s My North? – Success Through Personal Transformation.”

Under the aegis of What’s My North? I work with individuals to coach them on achieving success in all walks of life, though with specific emphasis on career development. I also work with institutions to provide group coaching and success programs.
I am a Certified Personal Transformation Coach and a Master Spirit Life Coach, from Symbiosis Coaching, part of the Certified Coaches Alliance.
I have committed myself to provide my clients a well-rounded self-development experience to achieve success, by imparting principles I have picked up through my certification and also through the learnings from my 34 years of experience in the industry. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from Madras University and an Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
On a lighter note, from my name, people commonly think that I am from Andhra. I think it is only fitting of me to throw some light on my genealogy.
I am a native of Karnataka, from a region called Hoysala Karnataka. Legend has it that for domicile reasons, some people migrated to various parts of southern India, primarily to Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
Having settled in Bangalore (came here blue eyed in 1984 to join IISc) I can speak Kannada as well as any other Bangalorean – though I will not tarnish my reputation by comparing my Kannada speaking abilities with a “Bangalore Kannada speaker”, what say?!.
So, I am a Tamil speaking Kannadiga with a name that sounds Telugu with grandparents half from Kerala.
